Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries have become an integral part of the daily use of power tools and electric gardening equipment such as electric lawn mowers, and the advancement of electromobility in the area of e-scooters, e-scooters and e-bikes is also benefiting from this development.
Our motivation
Lack of an overall solution for safely charging large quantities of batteries
Compared to conventional battery technologies, the energy content of lithium-ion batteries is many times greater, which can lead to a significant increase in the extent of damage in the event of a fire. Due to the large number of different battery types and the rapidly advancing development in this area, there are currently no public regulations on the storage, charging and provision of lithium batteries, nor are there any generally applicable statements on suitable concepts and overall solutions.
For this reason, Clausohm-Software GmbH, in cooperation with Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, has developed a concept for the safe charging of large quantities of batteries.
Various e-mobility applications (e-scooters, etc.) have already been put into operation since 2020.
We are currently receiving an increasing number of inquiries from green space authorities regarding the switch to electric garden tools and the associated search for safe charging solutions.
We have added applications from Stihl and Husqvarna, for example, to our standard concept for the safe charging of large quantities of batteries.
The assessment and recording of the building law and technical requirements of the loading container was carried out on the basis of the listed regulations, expert opinions and safety concepts.
